Kennedy will help solve these Broward County Courthouse problems:
#1. The Clerk of Court's employees are now all "At Will" employees, which means they can be fired without cause or warning ! Democratic values and labor laws blatantly ignored by the incumbent's Administrator of the Clerk of Courts office! Employee morale is depressed. The services of the incumbent Clerk of Courts office for the public and Judges are poor ! Educated, experienced and professional managers have been replaced with low performing, only political experience(with high school degrees or a G.E.D.)Administrators without professional experience chosen by the incumbent Clerk of Court. The Florida Constitutional Duties of the Clerk of the Circuit Court are ignored! The people have no one speaking up for their priorities.
#2. The Broward County Downtown Fort Lauderdale Courthouse has the most expensive and NIGHTMARISH PARKING problems.($8/hr.- $60./day; especially for the average working person the parking rates around the Courthouse are outrageous , and parking for the disabled and seniors the worst ! Bev Kennedy will change this!
#3. There are 3 other Broward Courthouses (West ,South, & North). All three are under- utilized , yet have free parking and easy handicap accessibility. Beverly Kennedy promises as Clerk of Circuit Court we will use the Supreme Court Mandated Electronic Filing to bring all Court Services to each Courthouse for the people .(Bev Kennedy pledged this reform three years ago; and has helped deliver this reform !)
#4 Last year we would have paid off our debt on all four Courthouses that have been on our tax bills for the last 20 years ! The bond issue was renewed without Public Hearing or vote by the People of Broward County! This must never happen again !
Why Should We Care ?
Political risk, the lack of professional management services for our County, and the lack of Democratic principles destroys our County's reputation , This discourages business owners from transferring their corporations here. New Capital goes to Dade or Palm Beach which causes a lack of good paying jobs in Broward. As a result, the hard working middle class families move out of Broward. We have 25,000 empty school seats this year !
BeverlyKennedy offers practical solutions which will save a half a billion dollars for Broward County ! She has 33 years of public service and award winning financial and business experience. Kennedy has 22 years of professional management knowledge of Broward Clerk's office and over 3 decades of experience as a Trustee for the public.
1. Kennedy served on the Florida State Board of Professional
Engineers , as a Governor appointed ,Senate confirmed, Board Trustee to protect the public.(3.5 YEARS)
2. Bev Kennedy served as a consumer trustee for Broward County as an appointed official on The Consumer Protection Board .(1year)
3. She also has been a Board Trustee and Executive Board officer of the Fort Lauderdale Police and Fireman Retirement System.(1.5 years)
4. Beverly Kennedy served (over ten years) as a trustee for the the Financial Securities Industry (NASD) as an Industry Arbitrator.
5. Kennedy also served as a trustee in the development and management in Public Education field as a Board trustee of the 1st Broward County Accredited, "A" rated Chartered School.(5.5 yrs.)
6. Beverly also has (28 years) experience as a trustee for her clients as an award winning financial adviser certified in retirement planning and public employee benefits. Even though retired as a financial adviser six years ago. Kennedy recently completed 25 credits of Continuing Education (Sept. 2011), and 32 credits two years ago, (including a Fl. State Ethics course). Bev Kennedy completed a C.E. 2 credit course at the Broward Bar Assoc.on Elderly Law, Nov.15, 2011 and Nov.22 nd, 1 and a half credit course on employment law & financial experts.( And a 2 credit course on E-filing for Probate & Guardianship completed at the Broward Bar Assoc. by Beverly Kennedy Nov.29th, 2011.)
Therefore at the very least she will introduce the very best solutions based on wisdom, experience and deed as a Public Trustee, not another politician without professional credentials.
